About Us

Angel Medical Systems is a pioneer in today’s cardiovascular medical device arena.  The company has developed the AngelMed Guardian cardiac monitor and alert system designed to detect and warn patients of acute episodes of cardiac ischemia related to the progression of coronary artery disease and thrombotic coronary occlusion caused by vulnerable plaque ruptures.

After successful US and OUS clinical trials, the company is currently enrolling patients for its ALERTS US Pivotal study. Commercially available in Brazil, this leading-edge cardiac device has been developed to reduce time to treatment, minimize heart muscle damage, and improve patient outcomes.

The company also recently received CE market approval for the commercial sale of the AngelMed Guardian System in Europe.

In 2008, AngelMed was selected as a “New Jersey Company to Watch” by the New Jersey Technology Council.   The company was recognized as an up and coming company with exciting new technologies poised to make an impact on the medical community.

In early 2010, AngelMed was named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the medium-sized business category. The award program, created in 2005, is administered by NJBIZ Magazine.  This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses.

In June of 2010, AngelMed’s product, the AngelMed Guardian System was honored as a silver award winner in the 2010 Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) competition.   The Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) is the premier awards program for the medical technology community, recognizing the achievements of medical product manufacturers and the many people behind the scenes—engineers, scientists, designers, and clinicians—who are responsible for the groundbreaking innovations that are changing the face of healthcare.

The company has 8 issued patents and 40 pending patent applications—three of which will be issued as U.S. patents in the near future.  The patents and applications cover a variety of broadly-related aspects of implantable heart monitors, including: heart attack detection, long term trending of patient data, patient warning systems, graphical user interfaces for medical personnel, and telecommunications.
