Information for Patients & Families
The Guardian is intended to give increased peace of mind to patients who have experienced a prior ACS event. After a heart attack it may be difficult to resume activities including even walking or low activity exercise without worrying about having another heart attack. If the prior heart attack did not provide recognizable symptoms then patients may be even more worried about correctly recognizing their next event. The Guardian provides another layer of protection by being more accurate than symptoms and even alerting in the complete absence of symptoms. The Guardian alerting, when relied upon as an adjunct to symptoms, allows patients greater peace of mind.
Families may also benefit from the Guardian comforted by the knowledge that their loved one, who has already experienced a first ACS event, has the adjunctive monitoring capability of the Guardian working for them.
